Allantoin is active as a moisturizer and anti-reddening, exfoliating and is able to promote cell proliferation. Thanks to its various functions, it can be used in after-shave products, in children's cosmetics and in formulas intended for the reduction of skin imperfections such as acne, pimples, wrinkles, burns, scars and grazes. improves the absorption of the other active ingredients present in the formulas.
Hyaluronic acid (medium molecular weight): it is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a polysaccharide with medium-low molecular weight of the glycosaminoglycan group. Its medium-low molecular weight (600 - 1,100 kDa) make it suitable for surface and prolonged hydration over time. In aqueous solution it forms a slightly viscous gel. Hyaluronic acid is one of the main components of connective tissues and has an important structural role in the skin together with collagen and elastin. The main property of hyaluronic acid is to bind a large number of water molecules ensuring skin hydration.
Thanks to its high affinity with water, sodium hyaluronate, the soluble salt of hyaluronic acid, is used as a skin moisturizer and for its barrier effect. In fact, when applied to the skin, it forms a thin film that keeps it smooth and hydrated and protects it from external aggressions. The smaller molecules are also able to penetrate the subcutaneous layers giving firmness to the tissues, determining a temporary filling and smoothing out of small wrinkles and interacting with the cellular mechanisms linked to tissue repair and inflammation.
